5 Reasons Why You Should Consider Moving To The Pocono Mountains

Over 26 million people visit the Pocono Mountains each year and for the second year in a row, the population is on the rise; proving that more and more people are deciding this is not just a fun place to visit, it’s also a great place to live. Here are 5 reasons why you should consider moving to this amazing place in Northeast Pennsylvania.

1. It’s Forever Beautiful

The word “Pocono” is a Native American word meaning “stream between 2 mountains” describing the area of the Delaware Water Gap where the river cuts through Mount Tammany in New Jersey and Mount Minsi in Pennsylvania. Upon entering the Pocono Mountains, you will discover an area of natural wonder comprised of 2,400 miles of mountains, lakes, rivers and forest. Can you picture yourself waking up every morning, looking out your window and taking in the grandeur of the region?

Rob Smith did a great job finding us a great lake front vacation home with a beautiful view. He answered all of our questions and took all of our concerns into consideration when picking out homes and was very informed about each property.

2. A Place to Call Home

The Pocono Mountains is made up of many diverse neighborhoods and communities. Whether it’s a lakefront vacation home with activities to spare, a quiet woodland cottage with lots of privacy or a historical downtown home surrounded by plenty of small-town charm, you will be able to find exactly what you are looking for. One of the best things about the Pocono Mountains is that while it feels a world away, it is only a short distance to New Jersey and a 90 minute commute to New York City and Philadelphia.

We bought our first home, thanks to Greg W. with Redstone Run. Greg helped us navigate the home buying process from the minute we spoke. His patience was a virtue and he was extremely knowledgeable of the area. Greg took the time to really understand our needs and what we were looking for. He also offered resources to his local connections for mortgage lending and settlement companies. Very trustworthy, highly recommended!
